Why can galvanization only take place through electrolysis?

A metal coating can only be achieved through electrolysis during galvanization. But why? Isn't this simply a process where, for example, steel is dipped into a molten metal, such as zinc? Why do we need electrolysis?

Electroplating is electrochemical deposition of a substance. Thus, only one electrolysis is possible by definition.

Fire galvanizing is not called electroplating.

Electroplating is derived from the name Galvano; a pioneer of electrochemistry.

Other forms of galvanizing, gilding, etc. are not referred to as “Galvanizing”.

This is a question of definition. Galvanization is an electrolysis.

But, of course, galvanizing also goes with melt, but not so good, I think.
