Because vehicles over 50ccm are often considered to be motorcycles and have higher requirements for driving licences, insurance and taxes.

Because there are clearance limits by the legislator.

A 60 or 70 would treat the law like a 125. Hardly anyone would buy such a small calibrated engine if he had to wear all the disadvantages of a larger engine.

When 125s were still throttled to 80 km/h and was due to each 100ccm car tax, the Speedfight2 made sense with 100ccm. There was only tax due for one 100ccm, because the tax was due for 200ccm for the 125s.

Since 125s no longer have to be throttled to 80 km/h and no more KFZ tax has to be paid, no more weak 100ccm wants if it can have 25ccm without disadvantages.

If you’ve read my answer, you’ve also discovered this statement in the last section.

In the past, 125s were not tax-free. And it was fully paid for every beginning 100ccm.

because it makes no sense

There is a limit of 50 ccm and the next at 125 ccm

if someone wants a slightly larger scooter, he will take advantage of the limit

Because there are statutory maximum values for the engine compartment in the different vehicle classes, and the manufacturers of the vehicles then of course have used it.
