Which small car as a second car?

Hello,

I'm looking for a small car that I can drive for shorter distances and that won't give me too many headaches. The maintenance costs shouldn't be too high.

It should be a gasoline engine. I'm thinking of models from 2000 to 2005. And the price shouldn't be more than €2,000-3,000. Is there even a decent car for that little money that won't explode in your face?

Thank you in advance!

I recommend the Ford Fiesta Mk6. You should be able to find a decent one for that money, but it should have at least 70 hp to get it moving. We've had several in the family, and they were all excellent.

The quality is good, the reliability is good, and the selection is so large that you can choose. There are always first-hand examples with low mileage. Another important date is important: The series was updated in September 2005, so these models are preferable. The special "Fun" model from 2006, with standard air conditioning and special seat upholstery, is recommended.

Would look for a Hyundai i10, Suzuki Swift, Toyota Aygo or Nissan Pixo.

Maybe increase the budget to around €4,000.

If you want a car with few maintenance repairs despite its age, you should not ignore the Japanese.

A Toyota Yaris or a small car from the small car manufacturer Daihatsu, a Toyota subsidiary, are available at fair prices without being worn-out ruins.

Daihatsus, which haven't been exported to Europe for years, are currently being traded quite cheaply. Spare parts are still available for you.

With a used electric car the size of a Renault Zoe, you'll certainly have lower maintenance costs, but the initial purchase price will be higher. But also consider the recently increased CO2 tax…

You should also be able to charge at home to make it really fun.

Especially with the Renault Zoe, always check whether you have to pay a battery rental fee or whether the battery is included in the price. You can potentially buy yourself out of the rental fee.

We bought a 2007 Hyundai Accent with a TÜV for €2,000 a year ago…so far we're very happy with it as our second car…otherwise, a Toyota Aygo first series or a Yaris…you can't really go wrong with either.

2005 Ford Fiesta, costs around 2k to 4k.

Generally speaking, Ford and VW have relatively good cars. You'll have to look.

Have fun, Mo

Fiat 500? Is it that cheaply used? They're usually way overpriced, right?

There is. However, no one can tell you how long a car can be driven without developing defects.

Why don't you search for cars on mobile.de, for example, based on your criteria?
