Which sand should degus use to dig?

Hi, I want my degus to be able to dig without everything collapsing like bedding or sand. I've already seen mineral sand and reptile sand. What do you recommend? My two keep trying to dig, but it keeps collapsing. So, any kind of sand or soil where they're not exactly dirty and can dig well without the roof collapsing on their heads while digging. Thanks in advance.

You can use chinchilla sand.

I'd try play sand. That cool sand for kids, you know. When wet, play sand has high adhesive strength, which means it sticks together well, making it ideal for mold-making. However, it's not as dense as fall-protection sand. It doesn't offer as much cushioning. I don't know how big your enclosure or cage is, but it probably won't be a problem with falling far.
