Which printer should I get?
hello guys,
I am looking for a printer that has been relatively recently launched on the market (so that I don't have to buy a new one straight away),
-should work with Ecotanks
-I should be able to scan, copy, and print on both sides
- should not have such a tiny display (must be easy to read), touch display is a plus, but not mandatory
- black and white and color printing
- be compatible with Apple and Windows (connect via Bluetooth)
- connect to Wi-Fi (which is always the case these days)
- USB port
So far, I have been using the Canon MG5750 for the past 7 years and it has worked well, but I am willing to consider other brands.
Does anyone have any good suggestions, as I'm not an expert on the topic…
thanks in advance
Generally, fingers away from inkjets. There are no savings ink printers all gone through the bank the manufacturer has only interest to make money by selling ink. Therefore, currently 99% of all inkjets are more or few subsidized by the manufacturer. Other problems such as limited number of prints, high color ink consumption, various locks in the firmware to prevent cost-effective printer cartridges are generally enough to solve the problems.
Best buys a simple SW laser for purely documents.
High pressure volume with low toner consumption and depending on the model also suitable toners. There are also color laser printers, costs a little more, but viewed on the number of prints (prints) cheaper than ink. Toner can’t dry like ink after time X, can’t destroy print heads by wrong used ink and can’t be so lubricating as ink printer.
Laser printers can also be used as the toners and drum kits are available in zig years. My printer is an old Brother HL-2150N, who has over 150,000 prints since the buy-in. Once the Drum Kit exchanged, more paints the toner exchanged and the costs are favorable. For 6-10,000 prints, I pay 20€ for toner. Ink is often at approx. 500 pages end and a cartridge costs from 5 to 80 euros depending on the manufacturer and model.
Therefore, I also prefer laser printers based on toner.
I would invest in an Eco- or Smart Tank Tank printer. Although these costs a little more in the purchase, the ink is mocking. This saves up to 90% of ink costs compared to cartridges. There are no cartridges in an Eco- or Smart Tank Tank printer, but there are fixed ink tanks filled with bottle ink.
Such printers show the ink level over viewing windows because there are no chips that count the pages. You only have to refill if the ink level has arrived to the lowest mark.
For example, this: https://www.mediamarkt.de/de/product/_hp-smart-tank-5105-thermal-inkjet-multifunctionaldrucker-wlan-2854251.html?storeId=538 It can be connected via USB and also WLAN. In the included guide you can download the drivers for Windows and Mac. The WLAN facility is simple: At the printer there is a WPS button. Press them first. Then press the WPS button on the router. And it’s already connected in WLAN. The router now works as a print server. Each computer or smartphone/tablet that is connected to the router can then access the printer. Despite missing display, it has your desired functions.
If you want to print with your smartphone/tablet, you just need to install the free HP Smart app. Available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
The included ink is available for 6000 pages black and white and 6000 pages color. This is sufficient for up to 3 years.
Here is the right ink: https://www.hd-toner.de/printer cartridges/HP/Smart-Tank-5105-All-in-One/Original-HP-Tinte-32XL-3x-31CC-Set-Multicolour.html?gid=14938&srsltid=AfmBOooIYX7g-D9VLrpC3CjbupQ6BvG2 Although an ink set costs 50 euros, it is enough for 6000 pages black and white and 6000 pages color. This then makes a total of 12000 pages. This then makes ink costs of about 4cent per 10 pages. Filling goes clean and without lubrication.
