Which NAS for home use?

Hello,

I'm looking for a NAS (preferably Synology or QNAP, as the interface should be good).

The main application is to store pictures from my iPhone on the NAS and to be able to access them from anywhere.

Additionally, documents and files can be accessed remotely from the computer and anywhere.

Which Synology or QNAP models would fit?

Are there any other manufacturers that you would recommend?

I would run a 2 bay in RAID 1, 4 bay in Raid 10

Picked up DS923+ now. But I guess it’ll be the DS1522+.

I haven’t bought yet.

I’m primary on 5. Slot interested and the possibility, as with the 923+, to use a 10gb module.

As I said, I don’t own 923+.

I had only considered it before the 1522+ and mentioned it because you are more interested in a 2- or 4-bay Nas.

The 923+ has enough steam in any case. It’s too much more capable than what you mentioned so far.

A 4-Bay Lian-Li-Nas is replaced with me. It’s really bocklahm. But she’s pretty. 😄

I can’t recommend a NAS now, but why do you want to go to Raid 10 at 4 HDD’s and not to Raid 5? At Raid 10 you lose the capacity of 2 records, at Raid 5 only from one. If you only store pictures and documents, Raid 10’s speed advantage doesn’t matter. Yes, theoretically, you can lose 10 2 records at Raid without losing the data. But if the two wrong failures, all the data is still gone.
