Which Lk's should I choose?

Hi, I have to choose my advanced subjects in a few months, but I'm still unsure. I'll definitely do English, but I'm still unsure about the rest.

I was thinking about GMK and biology, just out of interest. I was always good at GMK, so I got an A there. Not biology, but I have to take a science subject, and biology interests me the most.

A few teachers have already casually asked my sister and me if we should take a physical education class and things like that, even though I can't do gymnastics, sprinting, high jump, or crawl. But I'm great at team sports. Endurance, dancing, and things like that are also fine.

I just thought there must be a reason why the teachers say things like that, and with so many sports in the advanced class, the bad ones won't stand out so much, right? I'm not sure. Maybe you have experience with sports in the advanced class or tips on which science subjects you chose and how you got on with them.

The number of LKs seems to differ between the federal states since I only had to choose two🤔.

One quick question, what is Gmk?

Regarding biology, I can only say you have to study a hell of a lot. It's one of the subjects where you really have to cram the most. (I only hear this from my classmates.)

I think you'll be well served by an advanced English class, unless you don't speak the language at all. (I did it myself as an advanced English class.)

I can't say anything about sports except that the demands are already far too high in the GK.

Also, remember the advanced level exams in sports theory and that you have to take the Abitur exam in every advanced level exam…

Good luck if you have any questions feel free to ask

Okay, then I know what's going on. We actually have a separate subject for politics and economics. It'll probably be the same thing.

You can, of course, choose sports if you're interested, but I'm just saying, based on the general education exams, that you really have to study a lot. Besides, it's not all theory; only about a quarter of the lessons. You'll also have to earn practical grades in performance assessments for the rest. (Just thinking about the 5.60m in the long jump for 15 points 🫠) It won't be easy, let's just say 😂 (and that's in the basic course)

Hello first of all,

Well, it depends on your strengths. A lot of people fail biology as it involves a lot of text and memorization. I'm in year 11 at the moment and I have to say I found it very easy. Geography is my second advanced subject and I have to say geography consists of various information texts (materials) from which you then write a whole text and you have to be able to read maps/"diagrams". So it's your decision, but I've often been told geography is a gift. I haven't taken an exam there yet, but if you choose geography you don't have to study because everything is already in the exam, you just have to read it and put the information together. All in all, in the end it's up to each individual what they choose. Biology is for those who like to learn a lot and by heart, it's pure knowledge. I hope I was able to help you with my contribution and answer your question.

LG

How are your grades in biology, chemistry, physics, etc.? We're sure we can find a solution! You just need to tell us a little more about yourself, maybe 🙂

So, I faced a similar problem back then. I decided to study biology because I wasn't that good at chemistry or physics, and I couldn't explain the concepts very well. Biology was the right choice for me at the time. It was super fun, and I learned a lot, even if it wasn't easy peasy. 🙂
