Which job should I take?
Hey!
I've been thinking about what kind of career I could pursue in the future for a long time, but I just can't decide, and I'm slowly running out of ideas. I want something that will earn enough money to live a good life and provide for a sufficient retirement. I definitely don't need to get rich, but it should be enough for a decent standard of living.
I'm creative, sociable, friendly, intelligent, ambitious, good with children and animals, and I've been writing books and stories my whole life. I'm terrible at math and science. I'm also very introverted and enjoy working alone. I don't mind people at all, and I enjoy being around them and get along with them, but sometimes it gets too much for me.
Already ruled out are journalist (I'm not so good with articles), kindergarten teacher (the pay is too low), teacher (very stressful), and interpreter (it just doesn't appeal to me). Of course, I want to publish books, but as long as I'm not JK Rowling, I probably can't make a living from it.
Does anyone have an idea?
Best regards,
~Julica
As an educator (!!!) you are paid in many cases according to the collective agreement in the public service, in the remuneration group S8a. At present, this is already about 2900 euros gross salary in full-time at the start of the profession, which increases to up to 3900 euros with increasing professional experience. From March 2024, it is even gross from 3300 euros to 4400 euros, because then these table fees are increased!
And so for orientation: the Medianbrutto content in Germany is currently around 3600 euros gross per month. Median here means that just as many people deserve more than that as there are people, how to earn less – more meaningful than the average salary.
Speak, the salary as an educator really doesn’t have to be an excuse for this profession!
