Sometimes the socks hang between the rubber lips of the seal.
Often they are in stretch bed sheets, in sleeves of sweaters or stuck on buttons of trousers. I'd turn the other clothes from right to left.
Discharge the machine lies the underwear in the drum.. individual socks hang up in the drum or on these metal barriers in the drum.
That's why I turn the drum when it's emptied again and see if something's stuck elsewhere.

If you release the hose from the lye container to the lye sieve from the lye container, you can grab the drum from below and remove the socks (possibly with stiff wire).

I even got socks from the electrics behind the drum. Screw the machine back. Since then I only wash small parts in the laundry net.
