Which GPU (upgrade)?
Good evening,
I'm currently looking for a new graphics card. My current 1070 can no longer keep up with current games.
Which one do you recommend?
I want to stay away from AMD though.
Thank you in advance
(And please no 3000€ GPUs)
We do need a little information. How much do you want to spend and what the rest of your system looks like? What resolution do you play at?
I would recommend a 4070 first, but it could be that something completely different makes sense for you.
Normal full HD gameplay. CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, Nvidia GTX 1070, 650W power supply. Is that enough information?

Bei Full Hd bringt dir ein Grafikkartenupgrade vermutlich eher wenig.
Insbesondere falls du Spiele auf niedrigen Details spielst.
I think the 4070 is a good fit, but it could happen that your CPU limits it at times.
Okay, in that case, a purchase is justified. But off the top of my head, I can only think of about 5-6 games where the 1070 would clearly be overloaded in FHD, but one of them is Cyber.
The only problem is that with current titles like Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk, and NFS Unbound, the frame rates absolutely plummet… the GPU is also at 100% capacity. And let's be honest, nobody likes playing on low settings :/
Hello,
What exactly is the factual evidence against AMD? There really isn't much.
From Nvidia's side, the RTX 4070 would be an option, or even its upcoming refresh: the Super variant.

According to my recommendation, the new GPU should have twice the performance of your old one for the upgrade to be worthwhile.
In your case that would mean a 3070 Ti or a 4070 (without the name extension).
Although the 4070 would be more powerful.
All right. Thank you.
Of course the 4070 or 4070ti, if you can afford it
It just depends on your budget.
If the budget is not right and, for example, only 30% more performance is possible, the upgrade would make no sense at all.
