Normal Shimano SPD cleats would have to fit.

If the shoe has only the holes for look systems (or SPD-SL) unfortunately it is not possible.

Yeah, well, these slots are for SPD. The counterpieces are also inserted from the inside with 2 threaded holes per side and screwed from the outside to the SPD seats.
