The second certificate depends on how it turns out.

When applying, you can just write that you've been there for a year, but I realized I chose the wrong career path for me. I want to change that, and I've done a lot of research on the career profile I'm now pursuing. Something like that.

If the "newcomers" need a certificate, you submit it.

Please enclose the following:

  • The certificate(s) with the highest school qualification and the highest professional qualification that you have.
  • Evidence of what you've done since your highest school leaving certificate. For example, full-year school reports (if you don't have a full-year report for a particular year, you may also have a half-year report), employment references, etc.

With both. Your most recent degree counts, but your most recent school report card should always be included in your application. This ultimately indicates whether you have the qualifications required for the job you're applying for.

Even if your certificate from your first year of apprenticeship has no professional relevance for your new job, it does provide information about what you've done so far and what you've still qualified for. All of this is, of course, only theoretical.

Many people who have left school don't yet understand the purpose of an application . But the essence is already in the word. You're advertising yourself. You're presenting yourself in the right light. It's not primarily about grades, but about selling yourself.

So, if the apprenticeship you started was a mistake for you, you don't need to give a reason for it; you need to emphasize what the year has brought you. The certificate itself should only be included in your application for the sake of completeness.

Greetings Matti
