Which business account is the most cost-effective for part-time self-employment?
I had a conversation with Commerzbank bank employees on the phone who said that I could not renew my bank card because I had newly registered my business, which was why I had called in the first place.
I'd probably want to open a business account somewhere else where it's free, or take care of that as a next step. A personal account obviously takes priority.
Then I was forwarded to the business accounts employee who, as far as I can remember, offered me a free one if I received €700 a month.
That would be possible so soon after the founding if I put my focus on it.
I just want to do it in a relaxed, passive way when a programming job comes in, instead of actively looking for customers.
This business exists solely to keep me out of trouble, not to become a major entrepreneur as a solo programmer. Everything would be done illegally if I had such intentions. But of course, I don't want that.
And if I start an apprenticeship in September or maybe go to university, I won't have time to make up the full €700.
What do you advise me?
It wasn't taught in school, parents have no idea about it either, and whether I can trust bank advisors is also a question.
You are more knowledgeable about finances and self-employment.
How can I best get a free checking account with a valid EC card and ideally with a free business account with no minimum deposit.
I now landed at Fyrst (heared to Deutsche Bank, former Postbank) after a detour via Fidor. I am self-employed as well as by-vocational and therefore do not have many transactions. N26 would also be an option, but I had it privately before, and 2 accounts on a terminal do not go out much for me.
The Commerzbank or generally an account in a branch on site with fixed contact, etc. would not come into question for me, too expensive, too curious, too much advertising.
