Which Apple Watch should I get?

First of all: I don't want to spend more than 300€

Either a reconditioned Series 8 or an original 2nd generation SE? Also, why?

Both have 18 hours of battery life. However, the refurbished one probably has less battery life. Otherwise, I think the S8 still has a bit of a temperature, and despite the screen being always on, it's 18 hours, while the SE doesn't have an always-on screen.

The problem is, I need a SIM card if I want to make calls without a cell phone within range. Do I still have to pay monthly? That would be annoying… If so, how much?

Don’t pay and track yourself to the bitter end.

If you really want a smartwatch, consider exactly what it needs. Devices from other manufacturers can be more and are more reliable. Fitbit must be discarded because of the data protection.

Most people I know do not use the functions in the approach. A normal watch or a fitness bracelet would have been enough

Problem with many other smartwatches, however, is that they are not fully compatible with an iPhone, have also tried several and have then landed at the Apple Watch because all functions are available. All others have Android and there are always any losses with Apple.
