Which animal species have different color variations?

The only thing that comes to mind are the wolves, especially the timber wolf which has many color variations.

Breeding forms and sexual dimorphism do not count in this question.

In many cat types, melanistic color variations occur. The most famous are the Black Panthers named leopards and jaguars. Melanism can also occur in many other types of cats, for example in the case of a number of species of the Ozelot group (including tiger cats, pampas cats, margay, Geoffroykatze), Asian gold cats and servals. There are also different color morphs in the Jagouarundi and the grate cat. There are also white lions, white tigers (with and without strips), partly melantic tigers and golden tigers. The fur dyeing of the Sahara-grains also differs significantly from those in South and East Africa. It is brighter, has fewer spots and the spots are more brown than scum. Another color variant in the case of chepards is the king’s garment, in which the stains are fused to wide strips.

In the Baribal there are black, brown and in the Kermode region in British Columbia isabell-coloured animals (the so-called ghost bears).

In red fox there are numerous color variations, some have been specifically bred for the production of fur, e.g. silver foxes.

In the squirrel there are red-brown, black-brown, almost black and occasionally leucistic (white) specimens

Leuzism also occurs occasionally in the amsel, either only partially or completely.

The list can be extended as desired.

I’m sure there’s more.

These are often hybrids.

Mm– there was a hoof here. Then it’s the mixed ones. Hybrids are often sterile.

The images of mixedlings on nwv-schwaben.de match 1:1 to those at our door.

Thanks for thinking.

Yes, the zoologically correct terms are used here, but it often looks a bit different in the language of the environment. In plant breeding, the term hybrid is also used for the intersection of two inbreeding lines.

Not hybrids within the meaning of two species, but hybrids between wild form and pet form of the same species.

More than a thousand more or less different color variants are available across all colors and tints in the known wave.

Many of them are classified in breeding standards.

You forget that no breeding would be possible without the naturally occurring mutations. Of course, steps and steps e.g. blue colour mutants also repeatedly appear in the wildly living customs. Only in this way could the alleles be present in the gene pool and the humans then specifically selected those animals for the breeding that had the desired properties.

Sorry. I read that.

However, even among the wild waves, some color variants are constantly observed in a percentage number.

Horses e.g. there are naturally blacks, whites, browns, hatched etc.

Look at a docu on Phoenix, there were some more names:

  • Spot throttling
  • Some turtles (Galappago’s turtle was called)
  • pigeons (from white to brown to black, one or more colours)
  • Some parrots
  • Carnival birds ( naturally present in yellow, blue, and all that can be mixed from them, such as green z.b.)
  • Rabbit (not rabbits!)

There are many animal variants.

Viewed by individual differences (dark, brighter, spotless, etc.)

In addition, many species also have different subspecies in coloring and drawing…

Horses, dogs and cats are also available in different colors or is something else meant?

Okay, there were three different colours for horses: browns, rags and velves.

Wrong thought. Promenade mixes and scattering cats are bred by no one, yet exist very colorful.

No, that’s quite right. Cats are domesticated animals.

i.e. it is not unusual for someone to leave his bred cat uncassed and so unusual genes appear in a scattering population.

A good example are squirrels. These are from light brown to black.

Then the little land. This is a butterfly of which there is a spring and a summer form. In the past, the two forms were even considered different types.

And there are theoretically in all animals, rare animals where the color pigments are missing… For example,
