Which amplifier for this PA system?

Hello, we'd like to purchase the following PA system: 4 JBL JRX 218S and 2 JBL JRX 215. We've heard a lot of different opinions about amplifiers, so I'm trying my luck here. Which amplifier(s) do we need for this PA system? We'll probably use one amplifier for the top speakers and one for the subwoofers. Will that be enough? Or rather, which ones do we need?
Many thanks in advance

There are so many different answers to this.

  1. The JRX218S has no frequency switch. In order to be able to operate all four loudspeakers at an end stage, one needs to have both the required power, four channels and an internal frequency switch. I think it's hard to assume that the budget doesn't come from that.
  2. The JRX218S has an RMS load capacity of just 300W at 4 Ohm. The associated final stage should have the possibility to separate at 100Hz and should deliver 330W RMS to 4 Ohm.
  3. The JRX 215 wears 250W on 8 ohms. A frequency switch is also not installed. The final stage must be able to separate actively again and should deliver 275W RMS to 8 ohms.

My opinion: This setup is pretty old school. Your question shows that you have little or no experience with PA technology and no huge budget. That's why I strongly recommend an active PA. This is not only much easier to use, but also much easier for beginners. You can do less wrong.

The planned setup would cost roughly €2,500 with final stage(s), cables and spacer bars. I don't think there are cases that are unfavorable. And the final stages should be urgently in cases, which would be about 200€. I would clearly take advantage of something else for this budget.

As a beginner, I would choose a LD Systems Dave 15 or 18 G4.

The size is smaller, not the output. If you want to drag two 18 subs plus tops, buy two active 12 tops and two active 18 subs, for example: https://www.musicstore.de/de_DE/EUR/Fame-Audio-Discovery-15-18-Stage-4-Set/art-PAH816

This brings significantly more power and is easier to handle. Last heard the PA outdoor at a carnival move and was positively surprised.
