Where or how can I get my PC HDD repaired with the necessary discretion?

Over the years, a lot of data accumulates—even very private data! Films—for example, of ex-partners—photos that show oneself in various adult situations—or even written formats—whether as dialogue—or written fantasies, which often turn out to be particularly intense… and much more.

It's actually pretty embarrassing stuff, but I don't want to delete it so easily, even if it only serves to convince myself that I was once young, thin, and carefree. So, the best thing to do is put everything on one of the hard drives (1TB / 70%), delete it from its original location, and store the hard drive somewhere until the urge strikes (if ever)—then you can reconnect it.

Unfortunately, I managed to bend the data cable connectors on the HDD so badly that the cable fastener (…click!) broke. I thought there would be a solution – fix it with superglue. It's holding now, but the PC isn't recognizing the drive. Shit!

Even if there's no content on the hard drive that would be considered objectionable in Germany, some of it is still quite serious: Ugh! Sometimes I have to shake my head at myself.

If I were to give it to a local repair shop – or PC specialist – or even one of my experienced friends – I would be convinced that they would at least partially view the data (logically, to check if it works).

And in the worst case, simply save the data as a copy, as a form of insurance, to blackmail me with it tomorrow—or in 20 years, through third parties.

Or do all repairs (Samsung) go to the headquarters in Taiwan? Or can you repair this stupid plug-in device on the hard drive yourself?

If I ever get access to the data again, it will be stored in the cloud—I've realized that now—even if it costs a bit!

So: Does anyone know how to resolve this situation as elegantly as possible – without running the risk of tripping over yourself on Pornhub?

Open the enclosure of your external hard drive, inserting a normal hard drive as it is also used internally in PC.

You can then put them in a new hard drive case. They are available for 15€ on Amazon and Co.

There are some services on site zb ep mediastore and others.

Share your concerns and you will involve them in data recovery of the hdd.

Say they’re looking over the shoulder.

Another addition to the cloud.

All data about the cloud of providers are Ki controlled. Thus, children can also give alarm at any time when content is concerned and an employee looks over it. The authority is also involved in bad content.

So I recommend to let your fingers get away from Google,Apple and Co and recommend buying a NAS.

Good NAS synology and qnap.

A backup solution is also found here

Hello, we can take care of it. Price starts from 79 EUR if the HDD is in order and from 199 EUR if the HDD has something, if the data could also be saved.

Also wish can have a written declaration of confidentiality. Many other customers demand that…

PS.: No reputable company will blackmail you – and yes, of course, you are sure to look at pictures as a data saver primarily because you can quickly look over from 3 or 4 overview pages from 3 or 4 folders if the data are mostly OK or damaged.

However, a high 5-digit sum or even a 6-digit sum is invested in a data recovery laboratory and the corresponding training. There’s no one going to put this up with a blackmail!

You don’t have to be afraid.

If I get back to the data – they will be stored in the cloud – I realized that now – even if it costs a bit!

That’s great – then you’re just one click on the wrong link to get the data deleted. I’d never put that on-line!

Unfortunately, I finished bending the connections for the data cable in this way – at the HDD – which ultimately broke this fixation for the cable (….klick! ). thought it would be a solution to save with super glue…

Depending on the HDD model, you can do this yourself. People who try to fix something on PCBs with super glue, but I’d rather recommend it.

What exactly is the HDD model?

Link to the website is in the profile. You can then simply start a data recovery and send the corresponding form.

Basically, we guarantee you the confidentiality in the AGBs, but if an explicite agreement with stamp and signature wants, it is not a problem either.

Simply by email or Report phone or WhatsApp…

In principle, PC specialists also live from their reputation and are used to dealing with such data.

If I have to make a broken hard drive workable again, I usually don’t care what’s on it; I may see one or two random files and to check if everything is readable, but that was it. No one is going to browse 100 GB in hope to find something “net”. It costs too much time.
