Where is the best place to connect the mouse and keyboard?

Hello, I wanted to know if it makes a difference which USB port I use for my mouse and keyboard when gaming.

The two USB 2.0 ports would logically be at the top. The black ones, that is.
Then you can save the faster connections for other devices.

But theoretically it doesn't matter.

It depends, of course; the manufacturer should adhere to the color coding. However, especially on notebooks, USB 3 ports are often black these days, since all ports are sometimes the same speed anyway, so it doesn't make a difference.

Unfortunately, no one adheres to the color coding anymore. But it's no wonder the USB forum is switching all the names back and relabeling them with higher labels than they were back then, and with SuperDuperSpeedxy instead of simply sticking with where they started.

Use USB 2 so that the USB 3 is free for something that needs it

USB 2.0 at the top is completely sufficient.
