Where can you find good refurbished laptops?

Exhibitor laptops also go…

I'm currently looking for a laptop and since I don't necessarily need a brand new one, but also don't want it to show a lot of wear and tear, I'm looking for good sites that offer something like that.

  1. Make sure your system is Windows 11-ready! Windows 10 only gets about two years of security updates!
  2. My last experience with refurbished devices was that they naturally had older technology, but cost about the same as a new, good, inexpensive consumer notebook. The latter, however, supports Windows 11, while the former might not. Sure, the consumer device might not be quite as robust, etc., because it's not a business device. However, the newly purchased consumer devices are still in use by two students without any problems and still receive UEFI updates, for example.

The system does not have to be Win11-capable to run Windows 11. You can also use Windows 11 with a 10-year-old laptop

There's talk of compatibility issues that could arise. Furthermore, the receipt of updates, and Microsoft explicitly mentions security updates, is no longer guaranteed.

If people don't remember to manually install feature updates in a timely manner, there will be no more security updates. Moreover, the situation could get even worse in the future, so that there may no longer be any automatic security updates at all.

It's also possible that the next feature update will stop everything from working. I had this issue with Windows 10 on a Core 2 Duo.

That's why you shouldn't recommend something like that.

Many refurbished stores post their offers on eBay. You just have to be careful that

  • the seller has good (ideally many) reviews
  • the seller accepts returns
  • the condition of the laptop is good (A-stock, and also read the exact condition description)
  • the price is reasonable

I've bought several used laptops on eBay, and the process has always worked flawlessly. However, I've always done extensive research beforehand and found a good deal.

I was honestly surprised when I saw that Conrad now also offers refurbished products – but unfortunately that's done through external dealers.

The product has always worked so far, and Conrad would also provide a guarantee for this, after all, you are signing the purchase contract with them.

Unfortunately, my last delivery came with a case that had a noticeable scratch on it. But it was definitely worth the price, so… hmm.

Just never buy refurbished electronics.
Their low price comes from removing expensive original parts and replacing them with Chinese junk. The items are therefore almost worthless. Even the attractively low price is overpriced for a product like this.

There are no good sides to this. Everyone is involved in this scam. Otherwise, it wouldn't be worth it for them to even offer something like this.

My experience is exactly the opposite. Perhaps you've found a provider with bad reviews? You can't keep doing that for long; eventually, the reviews will plummet.

Hi, I see it differently. In our company, laptops are replaced every three years through leasing contracts. The devices are perfectly fine. If a new battery comes in, they'll definitely be great again. Of course, you have to make sure it's not a junk battery, but with a reputable dealer, you can always complain.

Have fun wasting unnecessary money on junk 🙂 I can't warn you much more than that. You'll be shocked when you realize what you just received. 😀

Hi, you can find many stores with Google.

I would pay attention to the rating and condition description.

Nezer battery, which software..

It is with stores like Conrad, K&M, Pollin, Pearl…

Good luck!

A few years ago, I bought a few notebooks from afbshop.de for work. They were OK.
