In the settings, you will find the “Calender” point in the left navigation. There in the lower third you will find the options for “remembers”.

The sound for calendar reminders and incoming mails can be set individually, under settings -> “Calender” or “General” you can find such a menu setting. For example, MP3 files can be used as sound files. A bunch of mp3 files has to be selected, for example https://www.salamisound.de/ .
Additional tip: With the Addon Mailbox Alert https://addons.thunderbird.net/en/thunderbird/addon/mailbox-alert/ you can set a sound for each mailbox or folder, in combination with message filters you can then know from the sofa who just wrote you.
