Where are the commas placed?

Hey people,

I would like to know where and how many commas are placed in the following sentence, thank you.

Here is the sentence: The Western states also moved closer together militarily and founded the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 1949 under American leadership.

Hello,

as already mentioned in Hamburger02 correctly, a comma is set to the right of “Nordatlantik-Pakt”, since it is a supplementary explanation.

So it is also correct:

“Even militaryly, the Western states came closer together and founded the North Atlantic Pact (short: NATO) under American leadership in 1949.”

Behind the “North Atlantic Pact” belongs a comma, since then a so-called “short NATO” explanation comes, which is to be separated by a comma.

Nowhere – the sentence doesn’t need commas.
