When should kittens and tomcats be allowed out?
When can I let my 13-week-old Bengal cat out? After he's settled in (about 6 weeks) or after he's neutered?
We live in the village, on the very edge. It's a road with a 30 km/h speed limit, and across the street is a field. I would only let him out at the back, toward the garden anyway. It's a terraced street, and the houses are close together.
It does hurt me a little to see him standing at the window, unable to explore the world/nature outside. But he's still much too young. On a farm somewhere nearby, that wouldn't be a problem, but we're a normal household, just located in a rural area.
I would like an alternative solution, but it doesn't seem to exist.
So is it better to let him out at 18 weeks and in a controlled manner so that he can get to know the environment and the risks, or only after he has been neutered?
Thank you for answers!
Depending on where you live, there is a castration spice (by the federal state). For example, there is one here in Lower Saxony.
Bengal cats are known to have a particularly pronounced hunting instinct and to focus so much in their hunting mode that they do not perceive the environment around themselves well. Depending on the cat, you can easily drive them over or steal them.
My BengalKATZE is 9 years old and I would never leave her alone, just the wild birds for love. She is allowed to go to the garden with me, but if I see how she starts to utter my chickens, then I know what she is for a cat and you just have to compromise yourself.
And if your kitten is from the breeder: please go to the animal shelter and don’t buy from the breeder, there are many breed animals also in the animal shelter (and also many kittens).
Yes this jagdtrieb is extreme, I love this race and would like to have a bengal concern to my coons, but since I have walked free and this race is unfavorable I stayed with the coons
Kitten only after castration about 6 months old. Don’t start leashes either for a controlled learning because it’s going to fix that which then give no rest and only listen to open doors
bengal have stronger hunting drive thus the are far not so attentive to noises, risk in cars accordingly increased ( 30km is also not slow when directly at you)
In the early days after the castration, but not before the 6th month of life, some holders also wait until the first year of life, just the disciples they are, the more unpredictable they can be in their curiosity and even Bengal cats are really not without and also not quite unproblematic, because they are superior to the average cats of the house and due to their extremely high hunting behavior they are also not exposed to any harmless animals.
In addition, I read A Bengalkater, so sounds like individual attitude, which is of course very stressful for the cat, because just 90% input and games are missing, because he does not have a suitable fellow and therefore there are no possibilities for cat-friendly socialization in such a young age, which is not ideal for young cats and can even cause quite psychological problems.
Alterantive is, Besorg is a matching Bengalkater at about the same age, offering alternative movement options such as Catwalk, scratch trees and co an, ggbf. Garden or balcony make cat safe and offer various variations, e.g. by fummelboxes and co. If you have a garden you can make this excellent cat-safe if you are investing in the fence and also a balcony you can make very versatile and cat-friendly and an artisan is very important, even with free-goers, especially since Bengal are very extreme and are another caliber, which is why another Bengal of the same sex, similar character and about the same age is important here.
Hallo
Alles Gute

“dolved young people”- well, this is perhaps a small bile discriminatory. Most young people are very pet-loving and have not yet developed as concrete dislikes like some older generations, that is, “the fucks me into the bed”, “the one lies on my garden furniture” etc. But surely you’re right, there are disturbed people who torture animals for fun. Unfortunately. And if someone carries such a perversion in himself, he already tortures animals as a child or adolescent. But we hope this is just as rare as tormenting children and not necessarily in our neighborhood.
You have no idea. You still seem very young, too young – or do not want to see the truth. … a look at the tip of the iceberg:
The problem of animal cruelty in children and adolescents has long existed.
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Regensburg – Department of Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, has published a 180-page work on the topic of 2013. This explains, for example: Up to 13% of the “animal tortures” in children and young people, with the incidence of violence against animals generally being higher in boys than in girls. The percentages relate to psychiatric unobtrusive adult populations.
Already in 2015, institutions alarmed: https://www.motiontier.org/artikel/vio-gegen-tiere-zu-alarming-sind-vor-allem-jugendliche-tierquaeler-1
Look here, Zurich 2021: https://www.20min.ch/story/auch-kinden-sadistic-zuege-659464446465
Here, Karlsfeld 2020: https://pressportal.peta.de/karlsfeld-jugendliche-misshandeln-katze-peta-bietet-500-euro-belohn/
Currently in England, August 2024, the event also swaps with us through today’s media: https://www.nordisch.info/england/tierquaelerei-just-for-fun-vormarsch/
It is unfortunately everywhere, also from the distribution of incidents. And the statement, bored young people, refers only to those who then torture animals. But not flat-rate all are meant.
And child abuse is rare? The reality is hard to bear. I recommend the book Deutschland Misshandelt his children by Michael Tsokos and Saskia Etzold and a short insight on YouTube: https://youtu.be/eOoHKVExekQ?si=M7I1-iht4U7lETn8
With Dr. Tsokos, I already had contact when we had to recover bones from our cat, as the garden was rebuilt.
Good

What blocked post?
Well…
Love
I’ve actually been flying over again in the archive, I haven’t found anything at your age. But for that your blocked contribution against me, sometimes to memory, I will not comment on it.
Oh, by the way, this is very amusing to give me a naval call number. Thanks for the Schmunzler.
I’m not attacking anyone here, but I’m not rolling a red carpet. And as one calls into the forest, it soundeth out. Many of us today alone are a polite demand for certain subjects a step too far, where do we live?
I’d rather think about it, in your place, why you feel so kicked on your feet. I respond to contributions from many years of experience regarding cat keeping, as from 14 years of TS. If you’d do a little work on it, you’d notice it. Always against the same questions, still so outdated views, still animal owners who insist on the outdated views and thereby disregard the welfare of the animals etc. !
What, how often and at what time I write contributions or comments here doesn’t matter, does not have to interest you. But if you’d been careful, I’m a care center, maybe you’re coming to the funnel yourself. OK, I can’t see the light…At that time, I’m going to have a group of 6 kittens, hand-breeding, which have to be fed and massaged every 2 hours. And two hedgehogs in care to put some weight on before in November in the compost out in winter sleep. In addition, we are three here, I like to do the night shift. GoodQuality and other platforms are a nice change, as I can also share experiences and explore. And above all, I see again and again that there is a lot of education. I have never said anywhere that I am perfect and error-free. Oh, my God, I’m wonderfully far away from perfect. But the animals are my heart. If you can deal with Google a little bit, you could also find out a lot of information that is so in demand here.
And I’m sorry, please don’t come to me with so much bullshit, quote: “The world can only be saved with love, understanding and inner strength and calm.” It would be nice. I tried long enough. In animal husbandry there are so many disorders that cannot be saved with love, understanding, inner strength and calm. Unfortunately, it is too often necessary to speak plain text and to get through hard. Many things cannot be explained effectively with two sentences, it should ultimately help the animal and the holder. An animal owner, who is important to his animal and who comes after his retention obligation, is grateful for information.
And if it calms you, I am also privately of the silent deceased, which earlier said to all good and Amen, become a strong, self-conscious woman who has come to years and who has not tasted any more honey around her mouth. I don’t like everything anymore, openly say my opinion. I know that many of them have a big problem, but I don’t care, I don’t care.
Good

Hello NaniW.
Please excuse my late feedback; I just read your comment.
With “that’s as rare as tormenting children” I meant, yes, that’s right. So to become a victim to a strange, perverse person. Not abuses by parents, friends or relatives. I’m sure it happens more often. But this is another issue that we should discuss on another occasion.
“You have no idea, you seem very young.” Dear Nanni, we already know each other; have met us in several of my questions and you know how old I am.
Can it be that you’re so active here that you’re messing up the individual questions and questioners with loud answers and comments?
I had the impression a few times since you attacked me for statements I hadn’t done. I also see that you are coming late in the night and obviously very upset.
Please take care of yourself and your psychic health! Please turn off and take care of a little peace and quiet in your everyday life. The world can only be saved with love, understanding and inner strength and calm.

Everything good from heart, you pack it!!!
If, then only after the castration. (I wouldn’t let him out.)
lg up
Why wouldn’t you let him out? Because he’s Bengale or generally because of animal welfare?
(a) Because he’s Bengale, so he’s expensive, and so he’s dangerous.
(b) Because this animal has nothing to look for in our ecosystem.
(c) Because I’ve already lost a releaser and don’t need this loss again. The chance is he’ll be overrun or not coming back.

Excuse me, thank you for your answer!
Very much.
I’m so sorry and I understand. I also had at least two free-goers who have come down. It really hurts and you ask yourself what happened.
Please not before the castration.
