When is the best time to observe red deer or similar?

Hello,

many years ago I was able to observe a roaring stag in the evening mist during a hike – very impressive.

Now I would like to repeat the experience with my daughters.

QUESTION: When is the best time to experience this? When do the stages roar? What time of day?

Is the time of year right?

A relative time would suffice as an answer, eg: – "Mostly in the evening 1 hour after sunset" – "Also in the morning approx. 1 hour before sunrise" – "At dusk in the morning and in the evening towards sunrise or sunset"

It would be best if mornings were also a suitable time. That would be better for the hiking route.

We are hiking in the Eifel / Hohes Venn Nature Park.

If you have any idea what time is best, possibly also to see other animals, please reply.

On the last tour in the High Fens / Hochmoor we only saw a frog as the largest animal. But the route was also different.

Many thanks for the answer, LG Werner Pühringer

You can see it and hear it in the evening as soon as it starts to dazzle, the Brunftzeit is already in progress in September/October.

Hello – Just go into a wild game and ask the employees/offers there. Forestry offices are also a starting address. Just call.
