When a website is updated, can you go back to the page as if it had not been updated yet?

For example, there's a website where you can write stories or something. And then a new update comes out with new features. How do you access the old website with the old features? Or if you want to look at a school website from 2016/17, everything has been deleted… is that possible?

You can access old versions of the pages via Google Cache. You could also be lucky about the Wayback Machine.

But functions will no longer be effective there.

https://archive.org and https://archive.is are e.g. web archives. If(!) the corresponding pages have been archived, you can, if necessary with limitations, see how they looked at then.
