Whatsapp ohne Backup, behalte ich wenigstens Zugriff auf Chats?
Hallo, ich muss bald meine ios Version aktualiesieren von ios12 auf ios16 (hab das iPhone 8), ich mache zwar vorher ein lokales Backup meines Handys, aber hab leider nirgendwo herausgefunden, ob man ein Backup einer alten ios auf ein Handy mit neuer ios überspielen kann.
Auf jeden Fall kann es sein, dass was beim Prozess schief läuft und das Backup nicht funktioniert, heißt ich verliere auch alle Daten bei WhatsApp. Ich habe aber alle meine Fotos usw. schon extern heruntergeladen, also wäre es nicht so schlimm wenn ich die Inhalte überall verliere.
Aber mir ist wichtig, dass ich noch wenigstens Zugriff auf die Einzel-Chats und Gruppen habe. Wird das zufällig auf den WhatsApp Servern gespeichert oder würde ich den Zugriff auf alle Chats und Gruppen verlieren, wenn ich mich neu einlogge?

The group membership is stored on the WhatsApp servers. You don’t have to worry about it. Only the same number is important for it.
Private chats can be easily reopened when the contact is available.
Contacts are stored in the phone book (contact app) of the mobile phone. You would have to transfer this to the new device via iCloud, SIM card or other ways.
Chat procedures incl. Media are only transferred via backup. So they’d all be gone.

The groups appear automatically.
You need to open the private chats manually and write a first message. Alternatively, the other page first writes a new message.

WA backup is a WA backup and has to do NIX with the operating system
