What would be the radicals shown?
hello everyone,
It's about radicals with IUPAC-compliant names and their order according to their stability. However, I haven't been able to identify all of them. Or rather, I'm unsure, especially since there are six radicals shown and I have 12 names available.
I would be grateful for any help!
My notes:
(from left to right)
1st column is acetyl
3rd column is methyl
5th column is phenyl
6th column is benzyl
order from stable to unstable:
benzyl radical (stabilization by mesomery) > tert-butyl radical (stabilization by hyperconjugation) > sec-propylradic (stabilization by hyperconjugation) > ethylradic > methylradic > phenylradic
Thank you. The rest is right? The stability of weak to stable would then be: methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, isobutyl, phenyl and benzyl. I am very insecure because I do not know exactly how to fix stability. I have now counted the carbon atoms.
I don't see an isobutyl radical.
