What type of bird?

I found the little bird in the picture on my patio yesterday. I brought it inside and fed it with brood food. He's doing well now. When can I release him again, since he can't fly yet, and what species of bird is he?

Unfortunately, I can't put it back in the nest because I can't reach it.

That’s a fieldpering I think

I’m not sure if it was so good to take the bird as the mother is mostly close to taking care of the bird.

Young birds can often fly short distances and it often looks as if the bird needs help.

I guess you just meant good. Maybe try to put the bird in the nest with a ladder.

You shouldn’t have taken that bird to the house. These bird children leave the nest and are then fed and observed by the parents fleissig. The parents were close by with a very high probability and had to see how you “deducted” their baby.

It’s probably an amsel chick. Here’s another link, which is once again officially explained that these bird children are not so “helpful” when they start exploring the world.
