What to do with a live shrew?
My cat brought a live shrew into the house yesterday evening (August 12th) at around 11 p.m. and it doesn't seem to be injured on the outside and when it sits on my warm hand it moves, but when it sits on a cleaning glove filled with warm water it doesn't move at all or very little.
A friend suggested I call the wildlife emergency hotline, but I'm afraid they'll be mad and just give me the finger if I call about something as tiny as a shrew. What should I do? She's way too cute to just dump her outside somewhere where she definitely won't survive.
what to do?
Let her out again, as a wild animal, she is not suitable to be kept in the house.
As far as I know, animal emergency services also take care of mice, you should at least try it.
Keep the mouse warm and move it as little as possible.
Outside, she doesn’t have to be hurt, but could have internal injuries.
Put the animal back into nature.
Spikes are beneficial, they are particularly protected and it is forbidden to keep them in captivity.
Apart from that, it would be animal cruelty and the animal will die because you cannot fulfill his needs in captivity.
Put them back in the garden. Spikes are beneficial, they eat small insects and larvae.
Giwalato
Just take her to the next forest.
And you mousebag can transfer diseases when you get them.
Of course they survive the is ne mouse.
Yesterday I’ve seen a very similar question here, among other things account…
I’d say you should let her back in the wild.
But if I read the question so I don’t think you’re gonna put it out.
If you think she’s a pet, you should buy her another 1-2 other mice so she’s not so alone. There are mice in the animal store for about 5 euros.
Wild idols do not survive in captivity…
Yes, perhaps.
Spikes are among the protected species and have nothing to do with pet keeping.9 The animal will enter.
And put “other mice” on it, I can’t. It’s not a mouse.
No, most likely not
Take to the forest.
Yesterday I have seen an identical question here:
The Viechers are in nature.
That’s a wild animal and not a cage mouse and not just actually.
Yeah, but just hold on. I doubt the questioner releases the mouse again…
