What to do if your cat has a cold?

My 4-month-old cat has been sick for several weeks, and despite antibiotics and other medications, he hasn't improved. I went to the vet today and got him another course of antibiotics, but I don't know if they're helping. Does anyone have any experience?

the animal is treated with amoxiclav, which I hope it got 10 days, normally it gets better with 3 days,

if, however, the caliciviruses, especially the deadly strains, do not help the antibiotic, nevertheless it is due to the secondary infections to pass on, despite all this, it is not unlikely to die from these strains, the small kittens of them,

in larger it is more unlikely with the dead, here by case, if this has been longer, and u amoxiclav has always adhered to every 12h, this can already take 1 month, but it is the more rarest, normally you get it well

I would go back to amoxiclav, and give azyter drops, more you can’t make

you could still try zylexis, feliserin or interferon, especially zylexis should be good against caliciviruses,

it always depends on how it develops, from the image, everything is still ok pre-contained it is treated as described above, but if it no longer eats it becomes critical, so you should quickly work with nutri paste against it

Hello,

you! If your own kitten is so sick and above all sick and nix helps to make the TA just the same, it costs a lot of money, the animal with all the investigations etc. still more stressed …. I can understand your despair and disappointment well!

Since I’m not a veterinarian, I can’t tell you what your kitten is suffering from.

But as the respondents already say, it could be possible that the treatment “shoots” by the target.

Are there already smears, cultures were created and an antibiogram was made? “The antibiogram is a microbiological examination method in which the efficacy of various antibiotics against bacteria is tested.” Is that possible?

I can only suggest such investigations to you (unfortunately) and hope that the trigger can be found.

Submission at 16.40:
“A means with F-lysine (also called L-lysine), such as, for example, F-lysine or Groene Os L-lysine, helps suppress the herpes virus. In addition, the cat’s immune system should be strengthened with the help of high-quality feed and possibly additional vitamins and minerals.”

Cat snippets are often chronic and very difficult to treat, sometimes immune-enhancing agents can help.

Why does a veterinarian give a cat in a cold 2x an antibiotic ifs didn’t help the first time? In humans, it would cause him to become quite ill because antibiotics suppress the imun system and the body has no chance against fours. Antibiotics only help with an infection. Where does the cat have the BAKTERIAL infection? Have you seen anything inflicted?

Would get me a second opinion from another vet.

Then it doesn’t seem to be a bacterial infect! Leave a thorough examination (endoscopy, sample name, smear, germ determination). Only DANACH do you know what he has at all and a treatment makes sense.
