What situations are there in which one character absolutely needs the help of another?

I'm currently writing a fantasy story set in a medieval setting. It features two travelers. Let's call them A and B. I need a situation where A finds himself in a situation where A absolutely needs help from B. A shouldn't be unconscious, and if you have an idea for an injury or illness, it should be something from which one can recover quickly (virtually overnight).
By the way, A travels through a forest through very rough terrain.

  • A has lost hope
  • A is attacked
  • A is stuck somewhere (flow, bridge, slope, swamp…)
  • As Pack/Reittier is gone/harmed

  • A is attacked by robbers and B helps to escape over the trees
  • drunken soldiers want something from A and B saves the situation with a list
  • A catches up in a trap, for deer or bear, B catches out his knife and cuts the net through/scatters the metal with his sword

So about I would write that, good luck 🍀

Depending on what these figures are, it is a princess and a knight then she may need help in the form that the knight must save her

or is it a princess and a servant, we may hold the princess, and the servant will help her escape (of course also goes around differently)

Well, my answer was about who can help like someone, because the figure is already a role for me. There are different types of help

Now the princesses don’t always stand as such defenseless creatures that always need a strong knight on their side….

Oh, that’s clear, but in the example it only wanted to clarify with people, otherwise I shouldn’t have written otherwise.

Don’t understand what you’re talking about

So this isn’t with password, but A could have been kidnapped and B’s gonna save him. So A gets everything and B saves him.

A could be caught in a trap.

A could just run.

A could also be attacked by bandits or by a wild animal.

A could be affected by a poison.

A drops in the sump and cannot free itself.

A could be affected by a spell (if there is magic in history)
