What should I do with my orchid?

Hello everyone,

My orchid is now 15 years old.

As you can see in the picture, it's growing more and more upwards. I don't actually have a proper pot anymore to plant it in.

I don't want to throw her away because she's doing very well.

Is there a way to trim the roots so it fits in the pot?

Thank you 🙂

No ruthless cut of roots, the cuts lapels and offer entrance gates for shredders.

Overall, the plant looks good and healthy. You may find a slightly more transparent breeding chaff.

The plant is healthy and blooming. You can buy a larger pot and orchid soil in a building market. But please don’t cut around the plant. An orchid also have air roots outside the pot!

No, healthy roots can’t be cut away. The whole root canvas would die and rot what other parts of the root ball could put in. In addition, pathogens, etc., can reach the interior of the plant much more easily through the interface.

Apart from that, your orchid does not have to be stuffed. Orchids like it rather too small than too wide.

Let them grow a little bit in it until it really doesn’t go anymore, maybe it’s still going through until next spring.

But now as the plant is now, it does not have to be repotted according to the pot and root bale size – but you can of course exchange the substrate if it should be leached.

Hope could help

Many greetings,

Dumby

for 15 years the looks super. that is normal that the “air” have roots and grow up ..

What many forget in nature grow on trees / branches and cling so firmly.

If you buy a new one again, get the sponge down.

Do not cut back roots except the dead.
