What should I do if the internship supervisor is not understanding?
I am doing my vocational high school diploma which is why I have to do a one-year internship in a kindergarten
Despite crutches, I go there because I really want to get my degree. I also take tablets there every time because I get a lot of cramps and pain due to bone inflammation in my knee.
Now today was my second day I also had to work for 8 hours and my supervisor sent me to a room and closed the doors she seemed to me as if she didn't show any understanding
She made statements like it was stupid that I could only sit at the table because of the crutches and could only play with children from there and that in her opinion that would not be enough
She also said that if a child fell off the swing I would not be able to react quickly enough even though the rules state that I am not the supervisor
Unfortunately, I have to use crutches for another 1-3 months because the inflammation in my bone is healing very slowly.
I also called the employment office so that I can learn about my rights as a currently rather limited person and they can tell me how I should proceed due to my physical circumstances. I will receive a call back in 1-2 days.
I would calmly talk to the daycare management again and tell them that you don't feel supported and don't know how to deal with it.
I would also discuss this with the school if a conversation at the daycare center doesn't help.
