what should I do?

Hello, I fell off my horse on Sunday (the horse is about 5'7"). I fell onto gravel between a trot and a gallop. My problem now is that I fell on my right side, and every time I stand up or sit down, I feel a pain that's somewhere between pulling and pinching.

Do you have any ideas what I could do?

Get a diagnosis of what's injured so you know if you can promote healing by, for example, avoiding or specifically practicing certain movements/postures, seeking medical treatment, physical therapy, or something else. I personally tend to wait it out—because I'm more afraid of medical treatment than the potential consequences of delaying it—but if you're not afraid of doctors, there are definitely better solutions.

A friend of mine, if he had simply sat out the crash, wouldn't be alive today. He suffered a ruptured whim from the impact.

So, if it hasn't gotten worse since Sunday and you're able to move around normally, I'd assume it's nothing serious. A bruise or sprain will hurt for a few days, so it helps to stay calm and support yourself with arnica globules, external ointments like Voltaren or Traumeel—and patience.

If you are unsure, it is not getting better, you are in really bad pain or it is getting worse, then it is better to see a doctor to be on the safe side.

Go to the doctor, first thing tomorrow morning!

Or call the emergency medical service. If they say call an ambulance, do it!
