What should I consider when switching from the pill to the hormone ring?

Hi:) I have a question. I'm switching from the pill to the hormone ring this month, as it contains significantly fewer hormones. I was wondering if there's anything I need to be careful about?

When you stop taking the pill (completely), you're often advised to do a bowel reconstruction, take certain vitamins, etc. Do you also have to do this if you switch from the pill to the ring? So, not completely stopping the hormones, but reducing them?

best regards and thank you in advance

Hello?

If in principle you have problems with hormonal contraception, perhaps the copper chain would also be worth considering.

Between my 15th and 23rd year of life I have been with Nuvaring and with the copper chain for 3 years (above 26). If you have specific questions about one of them, you can ask me (also by PN).

if you put off the pill (complete) we often advised to make an intestinal structure, to take certain vitamins etc.

I can’t tell you that. You should do that best with your gynecologist.

  1. However, there are still hormones and I had a lot more problems because of the hormone ring than with the pill.
  2. You can make an intestinal structure, but if you’re very insecure, talk to your gyn again. I was told at the time, after I put off the pill, I can start directly with the hormone ring.

The hormone concentration at NuvaRing is nevertheless lower. This makes him more objectively compatible.

But there are also women who still have more problems due to the NuvaRing than with the pill, as in your case. It’s rarer.
