What name could I use for an important character in my book?
I'm looking for a name for a boy who plays an important role in the book I'm currently writing. He can change his appearance and "determine" other people's futures. It would be great if the name had something to do with his gift.
Well, it depends, at least, on the nationality of the name of the character.
Names can ultimately be replaced enormously. In the very few cases MUSS FIG. X is really X and could not also be Y. The reader is ultimately ‘egal’, who only sees the name standing there.
But where a feeling of disturbance can occur if the name obviously does not fit into nationality. I had someone here yesterday who had a completely American name, but the character should be Russian nationality first.
There’s a difference in the right to name.
And if your character is British or American, it doesn’t matter. But you will see the differences between a classic-spanish and a classic-Russian name at first sight.
That’s why people who really want to help you find a name that fits well on the figure, even where the story plays and when it plays. Because these are just points where there is really a sense of interference.
If he changes his appearance, he changes his identity? Then, if necessary, I would give different names depending on the identity he gives himself.
That’s why I’d probably keep that name a little neutral. I once had ‘Ea’ for a character that was essentially a ‘nothing’ and then became ‘someone’ by accepting the identity of another person. I’ve been looking for the Latin pronouns ‘is, ea, id’… something like that would offer to you, I think.
Otherwise, you could also choose a gender-neutral name, such as Alex or Max.
I wish you every success in writing and further character design.
If you have any more input for me, you can comment briefly, then I may find a name that suits you better.
All love 🙂

In what time and with what social background is your story?
I’d stick to the obvious thing first, that’s how all the seers and fortunetellers come together and possibly make a mindmap. ua would appear the following terms:
Depending on what direction you want, you can play with the terms, or avoid them consciously – it also depends on how “yes” your readers are and how good you might want to hide hints.
