What maturity level is required to start a business as a minor?
Hello,
I'm 14 years old and have a business idea, but I need a business license. To set one up as a minor, you need parental and family court approval. I've learned that you need above-average maturity. Do you think it would work even though I go to your middle school, but I'm in the M-class and have average grades?
A business idea is completely unimportant to make yourself independent. There are thousands of good and great business ideas.
It is important that you bring the right personality traits for self-employment. That's the point. Then you will also be successful with a bad business idea.

It's like playing guitar. A good guitarist also plays with a bad guitar like a professional. And an amateur doesn't play like a professional with a 5,000 euro guitar. So don't think your business idea is the next big thing. Ask yourself if you really want to go the way of self-employed (the entrepreneur). If so, you'll have time until you're 18.
This has nothing to do with your schooling.
The family court is very careful to check if you are personal It has maturity and has the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to conduct a business independently.
Funded (!) commercial knowledge (aka about imprint obligation, right of withdrawal, competition law, product liability, product liability/warranty, product safety law, GDPR, packaging regulation, taxes, insurance, health insurance etc.) For your part, such a project is a basic requirement; and that is also being examined by the court.
You also need to create and present a business plan and your school is also asked for an opinion.

And I'm always right:
With 14 years you can forget that.
Write from experience:
I wanted to establish an IT company, wrote an informal letter to the local court with 15.
Answer came: I should describe the activity in more detail, create a business plan and attach the AGs for my online shop as well as my certificate (2.07s cut and two innocuous hours). I was "heard" half a year later.
The woman who asked me on the day of the hearing asked me about my idea and how I wanted to implement it. She then asked me what would happen if I were stealing software. I then meant that this was a case of copyright infringement and finished.
As I learned later, my parents were asked if there could be concerns that I neglect the school when I get the business.
I got my will. The officer said that from a few cases, you would have rejected only one, that was like a reselling for shoes, I don't remember.
I can't remember any more, but it wasn't that hard.
Keep all the letters and attachments in a folder, then you can share your experiences like me. Didn't find a single person who wanted to be a minor. Hope this helps.

Hello joke, great, thank you for sharing your experience here! So it can work very well. 😊
I made it all at 14 a year ago. How old are you now?
Hello Finisher, I have founded as an adult, but think you should all motivate yourself, you can only learn from it, even if it is not a success. 😊
First of all, you need the permission of your parents and the family court.
If your parents agree, you have to submit an application to the family court (former court of custody). This is formless, i.e. there are no finished forms or similar. The request describes the wish that the minor (so you) would like to make himself self-employed. The application must be signed by your parents.
Approval according to § 112 BGB usually presupposes a personal appearance of the minor and the legal representatives at the family court (no exceptions are known).
There is no such permission. Without a positive opinion from the school and a well-founded business plan, you can immediately reduce the idea.
If the permit is present, you must register your commercial activity with the competent municipality and the tax office in accordance with §138 AO and §14 GewO. For the latter, you must fill out a questionnaire for tax collection (FsE) and transmit it electronically.
The tax office will then check the inputs and assign a tax number to you.
If you expect more than €2,000, the small business operator scheme according to §19 UStG is not eligible. If you're not a small businessman, you have to go on 10. Upon expiry of the pre-registration period, the sales tax pre-registration is issued to the tax office.
No matter how in the end, you will have to make your income tax declaration annually and with Appendix EÜR, depending on the approach of the FA, also the VAT Declaration and USt Declaration.
If you do not register your business, this is an offense and the tax office will not find it funny.
Why do your parents always have to be in the boat?
The legal basis is § 112 para. 1 BGB. A minor then needs the consent of the legal representative(s), as a rule of the parents, and the approval of the court.
Why don't you do this together with your parents?
Hmm, no lol:)
This is decided less on the basis of school notes than on the general maturity.
The FG will turn to school, or Your parents should submit this directly with the application.
There will also be a conversation with the FG.
At 14 years, however, the chances are very low; at 16/17 these would be significantly higher.
This does not relate to your school notes but to your mental maturity (how reasonable and mature you already behave).
Good.
I speak as an entrepreneur.
I don't know if you're a 14-year-old.
A good advice that I want to give you as an entrepreneur is that you do what you can do well and give the rest.
You keep an overview.
You're thinking of your obligations that will impose on you authorities, contractors, etc.
This in short form.
Why don't you talk to your parents about your business idea?
And, you need eggs, your school notes are *cough* incidental when we talk about Germany 🙂
I don't think it's the mean maturity….
