What material should I use to fill the sandpit?

Hi,

Since my rabbits will be getting a digging box on Friday (for my buck's birthday), I still need inspiration for the digging material.

I'd be reluctant to use sand, as I've read that it smells when they poop in it. Unfortunately, they're not house-trained yet.

Could you perhaps write to me what your sandbox is filled with and, if you have it, send me the link?

I use either play sand or untreated soil. You can also use wood shavings or this paper bedding.

I might add a thick layer of newspaper to the bottom of the digging box, since they're not house-trained. And you'd have to change the pee-pee pads daily anyway.

Play sand or pine bark or topsoil (earth) or bedding. Everything smells when they pee in it.
