What makes a good main character?
Hello, I would like to write a book about Spirit the Wild Mustang at some point, where Spirit is not the main character but his son Storm. Now to the actual question: what makes a good main character?
That's roughly what he should look like, except there's no black on his legs, but white.
Here are some points I have noticed:
A main character must above all be convincing, i.e. that it gives you the feeling that what you read is authentic and you can also understand what you are doing or not doing.
It should nevertheless surprise one through the action. A certain vulnerability of character is also important to keep the action and representation alive.
Give the main character an unmistakable feature that makes it unique and distinguishes it from the other characters of your history.
Also a main character should have weaknesses. No creature is always absolutely perfect at any time. That would be boring! Whether fictive or in real life, weaknesses contribute to authenticity.
I hope that was helpful for you and wish you a lot of success in writing!
Thanks for the star!
I’m sorry, but you can’t.
I think the movie is from Disney. That is, Disney has both the copyright to the name and the idea.
You can’t just keep writing their story without their permission.
You can think of your own story, but you can’t be similar to Spirit because it’s a plagiarism.
If she doesn’t publish anywhere, she’s allowed to.
Of course. I thought she wanted to share her story with others.
The movie is from DreamWorks, I want to publish it, but then I have to get permission first.
Enjoy it. You don’t usually get an answer.
Thank you. This has never happened to me, but really longer than 20-30 pages has never happened. My favorite short story is actually only 2-3 pages long, but somehow I did something right.
You’re on my way. I’ll start with something and eventually I’ll get a blockade and find everything that has been written so far shit.
I’ll push the thumbs for your novel!
Yeah, you’re right. I actually write, but always own stories. I’ve never dared to publish them, but my family and friends sometimes read them.
At the moment I am on my first “right” fantasy novel
If she clearly declares it as a fanfiction and Disney has not yet given any warnings, it would be possible. Just… what ifs successful? Then you can start nix because it would be a problem as a plagiarism. So why not write your own and publish a sample chapter if you want to see how it comes… Less waste of time.
Well, on hobby authors pages such as Wattpad or Fanfiction.de, fanfictions are always published on a variety of characters and nobody bothers. I wouldn’t do it anyway, because it’s not allowed.
on a horse, I don’t know. If a person is to be the main character, he must be multilayered, possess depth, ambivalence.
Well, the horse thinks very similar to a person.
a good main character makes you have the right on the thema you want to write about.
you will have to think of yourself.
a good main character must also be authentic.
Okay.
a good main character makes you have the right on the thema you want to write about.
Now I assume that the FS publishes her book rather on HObbyforen and does not offer any publisher. I once read a good fanfiction about Mr. Darcy on Pemberly, which has never been officially transferred.
Hello
He has problems (which one can understand) and overcomes them
LG
He has to tie one up.
Okay, I’ll try to do that.
