What kind of measuring device did my brother build here? See photos.

Hello tech nerds, I'd like to know what kind of optoelectronic measuring device my brother built here and what purposes it can be used for? Unfortunately, he can't answer this question himself. Note: He's been involved in astrophotography (planetoid observation) and UV laser applications. Thanks so far.

The upper value is "Hertz"

The lower my/mc2

What is my?

You can’t really answer that on the pictures.

On the first picture it looks as if there is an ultrasound capsule in it (via display), which would also explain the display with the frequency and the printing unit mg/cm2 =microbar. Whether it’s just sending, just receiving, or you can’t say both.

Does that thing have any connections on the second picture? If not, it would have to be completely passive. Could be a reflector for laser or just sound.

If you have access to your PC, there should be a programming environment, probably for “Arduino”. You can find project folders that have a name that could betray more. In the committees too, comments should be in there that give much more insight.

Then this could be the transmitter and the thing on the first picture of the receivers, which then indicates how much shell pressure the gets.

What’s my?

Evt only a spelling for μ and the peculiar unit he did not write with him because he knew what the value is. I guess I can’t really find out without further information. Either you would have to know the type of sensors, or vlt the program code on the controller that reads the sensor and controls the display…

Don’t know me in astro photography whether there’s anything you can measure visually, so it’s a little help in alignment.

It’s not my, it’s mg. Just cut off because not enough distance to the number.

Otherwise: Not to answer. Lasers have nothing to do with astrophotography. And there’s no use for anything that looks like.

Mg/cm^2 is a measuring unit for pressure.

The device measures any pressure (milligram per square centimeter) and frequency.

Why don’t you ask your brother? He should know what that’s for an ad.

Why don’t you ask your brother?

You have already read and understood the question completely??? There will probably be a reason for… 🤨

Unfortunately, he can no longer answer this question himself.
