What kind of hard drive connection is this?
Hello. I bought a hard drive (see pictures). It's a Fujitsu brand. According to the manufacturer, the hard drive fits in my PC, which is also a Fujitsu brand. Now I wanted to install the hard drive. But neither the size, 3.5-inch drive, nor the SATA connectors fit. What's wrong?
This is an SAS port, and the successor of SCSI. Both come primarily from the server area.
SATA hard drives are also compatible with SAS controllers, but not different.
that’s a SAS port. significantly faster than SATA and is used in servers and workstations.
So I can’t connect the plate to my motherboard and the size doesn’t fit. the receiving shafts (together three in the housing) are all too narrow a millimeter. have measured it. With a leeway
The connection is not compatible with Consumer Grade motherboards. but there are extension cards for it. https://amzn.eu/d/fZdadq3
This is more likely to be attributed to the manufacturing tolerance of your housing.
No, that’s not gonna be any. There are adapters to operate a Sata hard drive on a SAS controller, but vice versa it does not work at all. So no chance.
Although media market would be the last place I would buy a hard drive, you need a sata hard drive in any case.
Well. The whole PC is from Fuijitsu.. I’m going to Media Markt now. I’m sure they have a matching hard drive for me.
Okay, thanks. I’ll send the part back
Looks like the Serial Atached SCSI connection.
Which should replace or replace the SCSI connector/standard from 2004.

No. unfortunately no scsi connection.
Serial Attached Scsi = SAS 😉
If I really deute this on the sticker, the record is almost 10 years old. (DOM 1/2015).
Under the following link you will find the data sheet of the plate at Seagate. There should be all relevant information on the part. Except I’m completely on the wooden path.

Yeah, I see it now.
I think I should clean my glasses more often. Thank you
was not your error. The questioner wrote, “It is not a scsi.” Your guess was correct.
All right, sometimes happens to me.
Sometimes you don’t see the forest in loud trees.
If only fat is printed on the label of the hard disk.
Thanks for correcting my error 🙂
