In my wall in the living room is a decorated silver jewelry box (or only silverplated), in it are the sticks and also some SDHC cards, so I always have them ready to handle.

They lie with me in a little bit of a little bit where a USB hub was inside, you can close it, then the sticks and cards are protected from dust and external influences.

After things are not suitable for the longer storage of data, be sure that you have a backup of it.

SDs in the small boxes that were usual earlier and USB sticks sometimes in the sales packaging or in a small assortment box.

Still, it always flies around somewhere and wants to be searched.

the two USB sticks are in a drawer, the SD card is in the camera (in the same drawer).

For my floppy discs I have plastic boxes, these are in the closet under the desk.

Good idea! But are they not being dusted?

Usually, you wipe dust regularly.

But in dust wiping, dirt particles could penetrate the contact surfaces.
