What is the New / Old Testament and why does everyone always act like they are omniscient?

I was recently watching The Dumbest Flies on a stream and one of the streamers (some guy named Hugo) didn't know what the New and Old Testaments were. He got a real dressing down for it and everyone was shocked. I don't know what it is myself and from the reactions of the others it came across as if you must be living on the moon or that it's a sin not to know. So can someone enlighten me: is it so bad not to know something like that? Why is everyone always shocked when you don't know certain things even though they weren't taught to you in school? Why does everyone always act like they know everything? Fucking.

Good question. Can’t define it exactly, but has to do with Bible translation, I think 😅.

If you were to learn in religious or ethics classes, I was not the case either. 🤷🏻

Many people become superb when they know something the other does not know. You feel more educated and in this one area you too. It’s up to us whether we’re wearing the shoe or dressing with the shoulders. 😉

So if you’re not in a Christian household, I don’t think that’s really bad now.

The Old Testament is still the time before Jesus (this is in Judaism the Thora).

The new will begins from the birth of Jesus and “turns” from the moment almost around him and all the Jesus stories you know come therefore.

Oh, my goodness is completely ok, but at least you should know the Christmas story and the crucifixion very rough, because that is really big holidays in DE.

So:
The old and new Testament are part of the Bible. The two main chapters of the Bible are said.

The Bible is the sacred scripture of some religions such as Christianity.

is it so bad not to know?

Well, that’s kind of general knowledge…

I think this is part of general education, especially in a strongly Christian country. You don’t have to know much, you just have to be able to distinguish in one sentence.

Christianity has the Bible as the most holy Scripture. The Bible is divided into the Old and New Testament. The AT contains the 5 books of Moshe (also called Tora), where the 10 commandments on Mount Sinai were sent to him by the Creator. In it, the teachings, the prohibition etc. are written down for the children of Israel (Jews).

The new Testament (NT) came with Jesus who is a God in earthly presence as flesh and at the same time the Son of the Father for Christians. With the new Testament, the prohibitions of the Old Testament were abolished and replaced by facilitated decrees that apply generally and not only to Jews. Christians therefore do not have to adhere to the AT. Who follows the new will is a follower of Jesus and thus a Christ.

if it were so important, it could have been taught in ethics at school, but it was not.

I guess the school failed. Basics should be taught in ethics. All world religions.

I don’t even understand where these religions come from or whether the myths are, where should these testaments or other books come from? I can’t imagine these things

You don’t have to. You can still remain an atheist.

then you can always edit the books as you like because you like the rules nciht? or why isn’t that old? I’m questionable.

No, you can’t. You can add things. Then it’s up to you what you decide for.
