Everywhere different naturally; It’s certainly not a pancake! “Marmeladendöner” I don’t think so!

Okay, I didn’t know! I thought there were cracks or something like that and pancakes are all thin round flakes!

And for that, our pancakes in Berlin are eggcakes.

Where I live. But if you order a Berlin one would get the same.

The word “pancake” does not exist here. If one uses it, it would be understood in this country as if one meant a pickle.

I’ve never heard the other words mentioned above.

Dear Kozanovistan,

I, a cosmopolitan, say “Berliner”. My partner, a Münchner calls the Berlin a “Krapfen”! And we both say “Berliner” or “Krapfen” to the Berlin pancake. If I’d like to buy a few claws in a baker’s shop with us in the Schwabenländle, then every seller understands me there! So I think that the two words Krapfen and Berliner are used equally distributed in the South German space!

But on “Marmeladendöner” I would really not have come, even though linguistically very eager and open-minded. I assume that this name for a Berliner has imported our Turkish friends linguistically! I think that everyone, whether we are Berlin, Krapfen or Marmeladendöner, will say to a real Berlin pancake: it tastes us all very well and we are all happy to enjoy it at every bite!

In this sense, dear Kozanovistan: You are a “Great Crabs and Berliner-Pfannkuchen- and Marmeladendöner-Zeit!”

Good evening, Kozanovistan.

This is a Berlin. Anyway, in my region. I first ate one.

Best regards

NRW. Question comes too often and everything is true. Don’t like that again. Incl Nutella. News: there is no one with it and no other variants. Boring like the question where creativity is going.

Like ice creams there are hundreds. “The crazy icemaker.” Pizza ice cream on d e m Gelato-Contest ever. :-

Saxony. Pancake (not to be confused with eggcake/plastic) and Berliner. Krapfen and Kräppli are another thing.

Here in Berlin you can call them badly Berlin. That would be confusion in the bakery. Customer: “I would like to have 2 Berliners!” Seller: “Then they go to the street and look for them two. Run enough!” 😀

That’s what we call our pancakes eggcakes. ;

Where I live, this pastry is called “Berliner”.

In Berlin they are called “Pfannkuchen”

In Bavaria they are called “Krapfen”

“Marmeladendöner” I’ve never heard, but this name has its charm…

TimeosciIlator
