What is the maximum amount I can earn without having to pay taxes or health insurance?
I'm currently a student and covered by family insurance with AOK. So far this year, I've earned a total of €2,100 (net and gross). However, I'd like to work as much as possible for the remaining months of the year without having to contribute to health insurance and without having to pay taxes (because then working more would hardly be worth it for me). So my question: What's the maximum monthly income I can earn for the remainder of the year if I start working in September (so there are still four months left) and want to remain covered by family insurance and not pay taxes?
If I understand correctly, you're looking at how much the person earned over the entire year? So I have to pay attention to an annual limit, not a monthly limit? Please enlighten me with exact figures. 🙂

You may not earn more than a mini-job per month. If you earn more, you may qualify for student health insurance.
Is it really true that health insurance companies don't pay attention to the total annual premium? Do you have a source for this?
As soon as you exceed your monthly limit, a certain amount is paid to the health insurance company, and you're out of the insurance. This is clearly stated on every health insurance company's website. Family insurance is a really great tool, which is why they're so strict with it.
I don't know exactly. We had that between high school and university. But that's a completely different situation. Family insurance started again when I started university. The student advisory service can probably tell you that.
Okay, I just calculated how much I'd have to pay if I were over that amount: €101. That means to me that working for more than €500/month is really not worth it.
Does that mean that if I am, for example, three months over, I pay amounts during those months and then, as soon as I am under again, I can go back into family insurance?
