What is the difference between the SSDs?

I wanted to buy two M.2 SSDs and install Windows on one and games on the other. I wanted a 512 GB M.2 SSD for Windows and a 2 TB M.2 SSD for games, and I also wanted to buy a SATA SSD. My question is, does the M.2 SSD make a big difference? I wanted an M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSD, but is there a difference between the small SSD and the large one?

The size is the construction factor here. The characteristic of the Patriot plate is 2280 and is the standard used on most motherboards. Actually, almost all NVMe sizes can be balled to a motherboard thanks to prefabricated mounting positions. The Steam Deck eg builds on 2230-NVMes. The Micron 2400 is such a 2230 NVMe.

Smaller hard drives become hotter, faster, usually have QLC as less space for chips (higher wear), and usually have a smaller cache.

PCIe is the bus standard. You should check if your motherboard supports PCIe 4.

Hello,

These are different lengths.

There are plenty of SSD formats. M.2 alone in 5 sizes

The last places behind M.2 22 are the installation length in millimeters. Look at your slot as it's built up, you'll get it.

… and the rest of the shooting festival 👏
