Nothing.

Both terms denote the same, namely the use of another word type (usually verb or adjective, but it also goes with others) as a noun.

  • Verb: The Swimming fun.
  • Adjectiv: I buy something New.

That’s true! But a small difference in the terms is the conversion of a word into a noun and substantive use. :

I think the word can easily change in the noun (ending e.g.); if you only use it differently, not.

Hello!

Substantiveization refers to the conversion of a word into a noun, while substantive use means that a word that normally has no no noun form is treated in a sentence like a noun.
