It doesn't exist anymore! The sign probably hasn't been changed yet. Actually, it's the sales area. Aktiv-Markt was usually smaller than Neukauf (also with different advertising). However, the two sales channels were merged and became one EDEKA market. In your case, I don't think the name has been changed yet. It will probably change soon…

Edeka Center and Edeka Neukauf are direct Edeka stores! Edeka Aktiv stores are smaller, privately owned, with a smaller product range, but dependent on Edeka. While privately run, they cannot act independently in all matters! Employees at Aktiv stores earn less and are not employees of Edeka, but rather employees of a private employer!
