What is the best way to get consulting?
Hello,
Next year I will graduate with an average grade of <1.5.
I'm currently considering which path to take to achieve a high salary as quickly as possible while also finding a good employer with good opportunities for advancement. The Big 4 have become a familiar name to me.
One option I could choose would be a dual business studies program at PwC (both university and company are within a 20-minute commute). I would study Business Administration and then move into Assurance Solutions. A master's degree would also be possible afterward, allowing me to obtain the WP (German Professional Qualification).
Is it possible to get into consulting somehow through this path?
What do you think? Do you have better chances of getting into the Big 4 with an external entry? I would appreciate a salary overview.
Best regards
I can understand your intention. Don’t worry about the trolls here.
In the case of BIG4, but also in other companies, high salaries can be achieved comparatively quickly. Top people create it in 7 to 8 years to 6-digit yearly households.
There are various entry and ascent potentials. I’m sure the one you call is one of them. More important than the name of the degree program is always the performance in the job.
A change from Assurance to Consulting is possible without any problems if you are suitable and there is a need.
Thank you for your answer. Do you think it is possible to get into a strategy consultancy later? Something like Strategy & And is it worth the salary you earn in the strategy consulting when comparing this with the work and time expenses with those of the Big 4?
Strategy& is PwC BIG4.
Strategy advice tends to pay higher, but it is considerably more difficult to get in there.
The question is always what you want to achieve. Perform you well, as I wrote above in a comparatively short time at Big4, you have 100,000 euros per year. If you make it a partner (from about 10 years BE) it goes on at 200 K. Fast Open End.
It might not work. In consulting, they need people who are not on the go for good at night
I believe in consulting you need these people, as these people may stay awake and work even during their work
Then go to work instead of hanging around on a good question. My citizens’ money is not financed by itself
Oh, you see you’re chef, probably at a pommes bud, you don’t have to. Lol. How can you earn so little.
Send me your paycheck
I probably do more than you did in the month
low perfomer
Culture bananas
I never said
This is not a line of Moneyboy
“Your account remains empty, despite employment” (Yeah)
Money getten is my job
You lack to talk to me, the permission (Yeah)
I just spit facts
Everything on the Internet is the truth.
Just like all that’s left by some random at 5:00 in the morning.
Paradoxically, not to pay taxes if you finance your life from exactly that.
Big4 shouldn’t be the target. More like the emergency plan. The price-performance ratio is very bad. It would be better to make your career start with a MBB or a boutique.
It would be good if you did several relevant internships during your studies, studied at a semi-recreated university (no FH!, except dual studies), made a semester abroad, had very good grades (e.g. 1.5) and social engagement.
The practice course could look like this; can also deviate completely from this:
SME Advisory -> Big4 Consulting -> T3 Consulting/T2 Consulting -> MBB
For example, you could also do internships at political institutions, in DAX companies or at any start-ups. I’d like to see that.
After an internship at MBB, you can get an offer and enter after your studies.
Big4 dual study can be done, but it would be highly recommended to make an MBA after some work experience or to make a Master(, absolutely at a prestigious university). The normal way over the university is more elegant.
So at university, it’s more risky because if you’re completely crisp, you won’t get a job start, but you can take advantage of more your potential than in dual studies, and if you’re very good, you’ll get much better, for example MBB.
In dual studies, you will work at Big4, except you will get a good master and/or work experience to get to MBB.
Wow. I believe that goes well beyond his/her question. You recommend that you be your 3rd and 4th company after graduation. He/she is under 20. Before the Abi. And important to him are a lot of money and short driving times for university/work.
Apart from that some of the things you write at least do not match my BIG4 experience. We also introduce people with FH-studium without problems. I don’t care if I check the application documents. The final note is also only second.
I care about internships or working students, best with us. And whether someone has experiences with DAX40, MDAX, SDAX, or even a limited company, doesn’t matter to me. Is there enough nulphs to carry through in corporations. In a small building with 50 employees, however, no one can rest on the performance of colleagues.
It was different at that time. You might have got a very good job with 1-2 internships. In the meantime, most of us apply with 5-6 relevant internships and very good grades. They often come from the best universities. The average has no chance. There are HR grade cuts at 1.7. That means the system will release your application if you have over 1.7.
Just read my answer correctly. It’s about internships. Not for entry.
I’m sorry, advice is very competitive, especially the Big4 and prestigious consultations are less involved. This is due to the fact that there are more ambitious candidates, there are fewer jobs for the discussions and KI again creates uncertainties. Unfortunately, those who are not struggling to study do not have such good opportunities.
Of course, the Big4 also introduce FHler. Read my answer right, that’s so annoying. But the Big4 shouldn’t be the target. Exit opportunities are great, the payment for expected performance also. And even then, a university degree increases the likelihood of withdrawing from the other graduates. It is mandatory for MBB. The note is of course important. There are over 200,000 students studying economics. Then how to sort out HR?! Clear internships are most important, I agree.
To the group thing: Nevertheless, it makes a difference whether you have a trainee with e.g. Porsche has done and has dealt with strategy themes in East Asia or you have just worked on boring controlling themes with a little Bude. You can’t take the name in your resume. Can be helpful, especially if you want to go abroad.
Do you think it’s possible to get to the Big 3 after a dual study and something to BE? And this is worth it compared to the work you have to do. I mean, you always have to see the reward in proportion to the effort. At 20hd more 20k a year, I don’t get anything special.
If you start a dual study at the Big4, you will be able to get there. Without Master. Pay no. 40k gross earnings for 60 hours a week…
