What is the best way to deal with negative thoughts?
Overall, I am an average happy person and I am doing pretty well, but sometimes bad thoughts suddenly come to me that haunt me for a while but are very intense, like that I am not good enough, that I am lazy, that my grades could be better, that other people look down on me, etc.
And some time later I feel better again but I need time to recover
And suddenly I'm the happiest person in the world again, as if nothing had ever happened. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm autistic, but I want to become more positive.
Just change something, sometimes I feel like it.
But if you think so long and often about the negative things, it won’t be better.
You should always try to control positive things and hide the rest.
Of course you think about bad things, too, which is important.
However, you should also focus on other things, etc.
This is your inner critic.
Prepare. Collect good counter arguments against these thoughts.
And if these negative thoughts come back from the inner critic, you are better prepared!
Why does the inner critic exist? It’s just good if constructive criticism.
But if it comes without helpful input and is just there to make you unnecessary, then it’s unhealthy. (This is reinforced by mental illnesses and lack of self-esteem.)
Mostly, the inner critic consists of your thoughts, what other people think about you. If you think more positive, then these thoughts come less. A positive environment is therefore important
Remember, when everything goes into the bins, there are still enough straws you can cling to.
Instead of complaining that there is no forest, plant a tree
You decide not to allow them. So I do it, always works.
