What is the best way to create a website in 2024?

I have already created 2 websites with WordPress for companies, but that was years ago.

Now my cousin wants a website, and I'd like to get it ready for her as a Christmas present. But I'm not sure what would make the most sense in 2024.

Key facts:

• She is currently building up her own photography business (weddings, portraits, etc.)
• The website can remain relatively simple: social media links, a presentation page with several high-quality photos, but also just a few. It won't be a gallery and should remain minimalist.
• It should be modern and up-to-date. I want her to have a good selection of add-ons, etc.
• Later, she should be able to design the site herself and upload new images without any special IT knowledge.

What's suitable for this? Is WordPress still recommended? Ideally, I'd like to pay the template as a one-time gift, with ongoing fees only being for the domain and hosting, which would cost roughly €80-130 annually. Can you recommend a hosting provider?
